Maruti WagonR The Show

The Show

A new car has to look new, and come to think of it the WagonR had begun to look too boxy for this day and age. Taking a leaf out of the page of the current Japanese WagonR though, Maruti Suzuki has done well to come out with a design that retains its tall-boy genes, yet manages to make a sportier and plusher style statement.

The biggest change in the car visually are its new proportions and stance. The slanting roofline adds an aggressive character to the car's demeanour, making it look more athletic than its cubic structure would have allowed it. Curves and flares in the right places add a whole lot of 'surface entertainment' to the design of the car. Tall vents at the front break up the vertical monotony of the large bumper, while the new radiator grille and those massive, flowing headlamps add a likeable cuteness to the car's face.

WagonR The Show

The current urban buyer however has long stopped becoming a fan of a car that looks good on the outside but does not feel good when he is sitting in it. Adding a feeling of plushness and well-being on the inside of the new WagonR must have taken a lot of time, and it shows. Right from the point when you enter through the car's large doors, through to the updated centre console, new fabric on the pillars and seats, right up to a new steering wheel - this is a car that does not shirk from attempting from pleasing its occupants.
