Next Bike has launched the Ducati Hypermotard 796 in Malaysia, and the RM79,000 offering incorporates many new features requested by Ducatisti worldwide - a more affordable package to the Hypermotard 1100, as well as a lighter weight, lower seat height, and the inclusion of a super-light action APTC clutch.

The Hypermotard 796's engine is an air-cooled, two valves per cylinder unit developing 81bhp at 8,000rpm and 75.5Nm of torque at 6,250rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The handsome looking bike features a revised trellis frame made of ALS 450 steel tubing, with each tube mitred and micro-fusion welded in a complex triangulated pattern. Standard fitment kit includes radially-mounted 4-pot Brembo callipers and twin 305mm semi-floating discs in front and a two-piston calliper/245mm disc at the rear.

Suspension-wise, the front gets 43mm Marzocchi forks, with completely redesigned top and bottom fork clamps, while at the back, the Sachs suspension features adjustable spring preload and return damping, and the bike rides on 17-inch five-spoke Enkei wheels.
